New CEO for Quad-Lock Building Systems

On February 6, 2002, Hubert Maximilian Kustermann was promoted to Chief Executive Officer of Quad-Lock Building Systems Ltd. Established in 1994, the Surrey, BC based company manufactures and distributes its patented Insulating Concrete Form (ICF) system.

Over its first six years of operation, Quad-Lock has grown steadily in the northwestern US and western Canada. Increased promotional efforts, the opening of new markets, and a high quality system have all contributed to its enhanced success. Kustermann joined the company in 2000, bringing with him extensive strategy, marketing and controlling experience, combined with a broad knowledge of the international marketplace – all of which makes him the ideal candidate to take on the leadership of Quad-Lock.

Kustermann is looking forward to leading Quad-Lock. The company has proven itself as the manufacturer of the most versatile system in the market and customer satisfaction is their mission. “We have all the people, tools and assets in place to be one of the top players in the ICF industry,” comments Kustermann.

Hubert Max, as he is known around the office, was born in 1969 and raised in Germany. Following high school he worked for various mining companies in Germany, Venezuela, Brazil, Canada and U.S.A., while studying for his Masters of Science degree in Mining Engineering. He acquired extensive knowledge in business and financial administration during the following three years at a leading European management-consulting firm. In addition to a four-month feasibility study for Quad-Lock’s introduction in Europe in 1997, Kustermann has been working with the company since April of 2000. As a member of the second generation of the family enterprise he strives to develop his father’s brainchild into one of the world’s leading ICFs.

Married since 1997, Kustermann and his wife, Jasmin, are now raising their family in West Vancouver. With a four-year-old daughter and two-year-old son, there is little time for hobbies and sports. This year the family is, however, working on a special project – the building of their own Quad-Lock home. It is the ultimate testament of Kustermann’s belief in the quality and strength of the Quad-Lock home.

Kustermann holds an ambitious vision for the company. He feels that Quad-Lock will be the supplier with the highest standards in engineering, performance, value and service. In addition, he anticipates that Quad-Lock will become the centre point of an alliance offering a complete building solution. After covering North America with qualified distributor networks, he plans to target selected international markets, making Quad-Lock’s superior ICF building technology available to many energy-conscious customers. “And we will have a great time getting there,” he exclaims.
